Groundwater Geophysics
Quantum Geophysics has an experienced team of geophysicists that provide cost-effective solutions to groundwater projects. The exploration for groundwater resources can be greatly enhanced through the use of geophysics much in the same manner that the petroleum industry uses geophysics to find oil and gas reserves. Quantum Geophysics routinely uses electrical resistivity methods to locate fractured aquifers and water-bearing sands and gravels. Downhole geophysical logs are also very useful in locating water-producing zones intersected by wells.
Groundwater geophysics allow us to locate, identify and/or evaluate:
- Water resources
- Buried channels and valleys
- Cones of depression around pumping wells
- Fresh water-salt water interface
- Geothermal resources
- Near-vertical, water-bearing fractures
- Transmissive fractures intersected by wells
- Water table
- Well construction details.
