Quantum Geophysics is a geophysical consulting firm that specializes in surface and down-hole geophysical methods to identify subsurface conditions in support of engineering, environmental, and groundwater investigations.
Quantum Geophysics is located in Phoenixville, Pa. Since our founding in 1990, we have completed over 500 geophysical surveys throughout the United States. Project sites include infrastructure (roads, bridges, dams), power plants (fossil fuel and nuclear), fuel storage facilities, military facilities (NIKE missile sites, former and active bases), harbors, landfills, brownfields, SuperFund sites, airports, commercial and industrial facilities, schools, sub-divisions, and quarries. Clients include architectural and engineering firms, environmental firms, utilities, municipal, state and federal government agencies, developers, law firms, school districts, universities, and landfill operators.
Because of the geology of southeastern Pennsylvania, Quantum Geophysics has developed expertise in evaluating sinkhole activity and identifying abandoned coal mines using microgravity, 2-D and 3-D electrical resistivity imaging, and/or multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW), depending on site conditions. These methods have proven very effective in guiding engineering design and remedial action (grouting).
